As a Canadian/Norwegian, Janteloven is deepily ingrained. It is a belief that everyone is seen as relatively equal, regardless of their possessions or achievements. This emphasis on equality makes boasting or showing off socially unacceptable, as it is seen as disrupting the delicate balance of the community. Teamwork is very important to me and I always strive to make the team better.
That being said, I am humbly one of the recipients of the 2023-2024 Children & Family Emmy Award for Outstanding Costume Design/Styling for Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock with the other very talented teams of the Creature Shop in Calgary, New York and LA.
I feel very lucky to have worked with such incredible artists and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity.
About Me
It all began at age 4 with the magic of my first puppet and has since been a lifetime filled with awe and wonder for this infinite art form. I have never given up that child-like fascination and it still has the power to astound to this day.
I am a proud mama to an incredible human and two small dogs who somehow adapt to all the adventures I get into.
I make puppets of all types from foam/fleece or knitted wool hand puppets, also finger puppets, rod, shadow or tabletop puppets. I use all types of materials such as foam, fleece, worbla, papier mâché, clay, wood, the possibilities are endless!
I am a professionally trained floral designer since 2001 with many unusual works of floral art for print and gallery. My favourites were the ones I created for Matt Barnes a very talented celebrity photographer for his art pieces.
I have worked on some wonderfully kind children’s television shows as puppet wrangler/craft designer: Opie’s Home, Super Mighty Makers, Miss Persona and The Fabulous Show with Fay & Fluffy.All taught values that I deeply believe in - they will help shape a kind & considerate generation for the future. In 2021, I joined the world of the Jim Henson Company on Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock as puppet wrangler/fabricator/performer. My 4 year old self realized a life long goal - work with the puppets of Jim Henson’s imagination.
Fun fact: I lived in an off-grid school bus for the winter months in Alberta during the filming of Season One of 'Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock' and never felt more free. I am looking forward to more adventures!
